What Tapster Does
Tapster is a Discord bot built for Rise of Kingdoms alliances and kingdoms — an alliance blacklist with a web dashboard, per-server rules, commander talent builds, reminders, troop calculators, and role-based admin tooling, all managed either through Discord slash commands or this website.
1. Add Tapster to Your Server
Use this invite link, or build your own from the Discord Developer Portal:
Finding your Client ID: Discord Developer Portal → your application → General Information → Application ID. Replace the bracketed placeholder above with that number.
Recommended permissions when Discord asks: View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files, Read Message History, Manage Channels (needed for /setup clock, which creates its own channel), and Use Application Commands.
Only server owners and members with "Manage Server" can add bots to a Discord server.
2. Run First-Time Setup
As a server admin, run /intro in Discord for an interactive walkthrough, or do these
three steps manually:
| Step | Command | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | /setup clock | Creates a live server clock channel with stats and a Governors Helped counter. |
| 2 | /blacklist setup | Picks the channel where blacklist announcements will post. |
| 3 | /paneladmin | Creates your admin login for this website. Save the username and password — they can't be recovered later, only reset. |
3. Log Into the Website
Use the username and password from /paneladmin to sign in. From there you can manage
the blacklist, edit Discord role permissions, write your server's rules, and create officer
accounts for other admins — see Command Reference and Permission Recommendations in the sidebar
for more detail on both.
Everyone Commands
Hidden by default. A server admin grants access to specific Discord roles via /permissions
— administrators can always use every command regardless.
| Command | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| /commander | Show a commander's talent build | /commander name: Richard I |
| /commanderlist | List every commander currently in the database | /commanderlist |
| /history | Show historical background for a commander's real-life counterpart | /history name: Sun Tzu |
| /rules | View this server's rules | /rules |
| /help | List all Tapster commands | /help |
| /calc troops | Calculate troop training cost, power gain, and event points | /calc troops type: Infantry tier: T4 quantity: 10000 |
| /remindme | Set a personal reminder for a specific UTC time | /remindme time: 2026-08-25 14:00 message: Check KvK score |
| /reminder list | List your own pending reminders | /reminder list |
| /reminder cancel | Cancel one of your pending reminders | /reminder cancel — then pick from the autocomplete list |
| /events | Get the link to the Rise of Kingdoms event calendar | /events |
| /blacklist list | List all active blacklist entries (visible only to you) | /blacklist list |
| /blacklist listall | List all active blacklist entries publicly | /blacklist listall |
| /blacklist lookup | Check if a specific Governor ID is blacklisted | /blacklist lookup governor_id: 12345678 |
| /blacklist add | Add a player to the blacklist | /blacklist add governor_id: 12345678 notes: Scamming alliance members duration: 30d |
| /blacklist remove | Remove a player from the blacklist | /blacklist remove governor_id: 12345678 |
| /blacklist history | Show recently removed or expired blacklist entries | /blacklist history |
| /feedback | Send feedback or a suggestion to the bot developer | /feedback message: Would love a leaderboard command |
Admin-Only Commands
Require Discord's own Administrator permission — these can't be delegated to other roles.
| Command | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| /setup clock | Create a self-updating server clock channel | /setup clock |
| /blacklist setup | Choose the channel for blacklist announcements | /blacklist setup channel: #blacklist-announcements |
| /permissions | Manage which Discord roles can use which commands | /permissions |
| /paneladmin | Create or reset this server's website admin account | /paneladmin |
| /intro | Walk through Tapster's setup steps | /intro |
Two Separate Permission Systems
It's easy to conflate these, so worth being explicit: Tapster has two independent permission systems that don't affect each other.
| System | Controls | Managed via |
|---|---|---|
| Discord Bot Permissions | Which Discord roles can run which slash commands in Discord itself | /permissions in Discord, or the "Discord Bot Permissions" tab on the website |
| Website Officer Permissions | What a specific website login can see and do on this panel | "Administrative Actions" tab, when an admin creates or edits an officer account |
Suggested Discord Role Setup
| Role | Suggested Command Access |
|---|---|
| Everyone / Members | /remindme, /reminder list, /reminder cancel, /events, /rules, /blacklist lookup, /blacklist list, /commander, /commanderlist, /history, /calc troops — generally safe to open to the whole server |
| Officer | Everything above, plus /blacklist add |
| Council / Leadership | Everything above, plus /blacklist remove, /blacklist listall, /blacklist history |
| Admins | Already have every command by default — no need to grant anything explicitly |
Suggested Website Officer Presets
These match the one-click presets already available when creating or editing an officer account.
| Preset | Good for |
|---|---|
| Blacklist Manager | Officers who actively manage the blacklist day-to-day, mirroring the Discord Officer role above |
| Permissions Manager | Someone trusted to adjust which Discord roles can use which commands, without needing full admin access |
| Auditor | Read-only oversight — can review the audit log without being able to change anything |
| Full Access | A trusted co-admin who should have the same website access as you, without an actual Discord "admin" account |
How It Works
Live Chat Translation lets your members read each other's messages across languages without leaving Discord. Once an admin turns it on for your server, react to any message with a mapped flag emoji — 🇺🇸 for English, 🇨🇳 for Chinese, 🇪🇸 for Spanish, and so on — and the bot posts a translation as a public reply, clearly labeled with who wrote the original message and which language it came from.
If the feature is turned off, reacting with a flag does nothing at all — no reply, no error. If someone else has already translated that exact message into that exact language, reacting again doesn't trigger a second translation or use up any more quota.
Setting It Up
- An admin goes to the Translation tab on the website and switches it on
- Check the default flag list, or add/remove/change which flags map to which languages
- That's it — anyone in the server can now react with a mapped flag to trigger a translation
Plans & Pricing
Every server starts on a free trial — 10 translations total, shared across the whole server rather than per-person, with no monthly reset. For ongoing use beyond that, two optional paid tiers are available. Full details on the Pricing page.
| Tier | Price | Included |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 10 translations total, for the life of the server |
| Pro | $6.99/mo | 250,000 characters of translation per month |
| Premium | $12.99/mo | 500,000 characters of translation per month |
Usage is measured by the length of the original message being translated, not the translated output — matching how the underlying translation service itself bills.
Managing a Subscription
From the Translation tab, an admin can upgrade to Pro or Premium directly. Once on a paid plan, "Manage Subscription" opens a secure Stripe-hosted page to change plans, update payment details, or cancel. Canceling keeps translation working through the end of the period you've already paid for — access doesn't stop immediately.
